Background information

Parker Gispert (born May 24, 1982) is the lead singer of The Whigs. He is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, a 2001 graduate of The Westminster Schools, and a 2006 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Philosophy...[1][2] After graduating college and self producing and releasing "Give 'Em All A Big Fat Lip," the band was signed to Dave Matthews' ATO label in the summer of 2006. "Fat Lip" was recorded with gear the band bought on eBay, before subsequently selling it for a small profit. He and the Whigs have become regulars on the late-night TV circuit and have performed on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Show With David Letterman (twice), Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

On "Give 'Em All A Big Fat Lip" tours, he played a yellow 1978 Gibson L-6S Deluxe and began incorporating a Custom Gibson 339 midway through touring on "Mission Control. He plays a custom built Port City Amplifier. He has recently switched from playing Gibson guitars to a Fender Telecaster. He also owns a Gibson ES-120T and a Gibson Hummingbird.

While in high school, Parker played drums and keyboards in a nu-metal band alongside Hamilton Jordan of Genghis Tron and Noah Britton of The Best Thing Ever.[3]
